I.F. GALLERY is a gallery dedicated to introducing Japanese modern and contemporary artworks to a global audience. Our name, derived from the initials of "Inception" and "Foresight," symbolizes our mission and vision. Based in Japan and Singapore, we aim to expand the global community of enthusiasts for Japanese modern and contemporary art through international exhibitions and sales.
Our exhibitions are primarily held in our Singapore gallery space. We collect artworks from Japan and host exhibitions in Singapore to expand our client base in Southeast Asia, Mainland China, and Taiwan. One of our gallery's missions is to unearth excellent artists and works that have been buried in history, and to actively promote those existing artists who, despite creating outstanding works, have not yet received proper recognition, bringing their evaluations to the heights they deserve. Toshiya Kaneko's affinity for art stems from his father's art collection. In his early twenties, he became acquainted with numerous galleries and artists in Tokyo. He graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo before furthering his studies in the United States, where he obtained a master's degree from New York University as well as curator qualification in New York State. Subsequently, he received a doctorate in history from the University of Pennsylvania.
After returning to Japan, Toshiya Kaneko taught at Seisa Dohto University in Hokkaido, offering courses in Art General Theory, Western Art History, Eastern Art History, Political Science, Japanese Political History, and Japanese Intellectual History. As a seasoned consultant in the art field, he provides invaluable insights to all who appreciate Japanese art.
